Chicken rice meal for church

It was rainy this morning..as forecasted. Went to church ard 9.30am to start cooking. Was worried the rice was too soggy but it became fluffy when I left it to cool during the service. I'm not sure if they liked it but they didn't take the chilli or bak kwa or tapioca chips..so I've more to myself! Gave the new bottle of kaya to M and Ch too..in the end we didn't make kaya toast cos everyone was too full! Then the dessert also..only 3 of them ate..other 3 ate English puddings that M bought..hahaha! Good that she had standby some! She cooked a casserole dish for J and the non-chicken eating minister came too..and he also ate the chicken rice..so I don't know what reaction he will get! Haha..he didn't ask either. Anyway we were discussing what about someone not able to have chicken..hahaa..anyway, they commented chicken was tender..and they had soup before their meal. Showed them a portion how the chicken rice should be eaten and they served themselves.

Small (1.25kg) chicken with 2 chicken legs

All chopped up and deboned (except drumsticks)

Didn't have enough rice to do a takeaway for the other church member who can't make it. They really don't eat much rice..only cooked 2 cups and 6 of us had rice. Some rice was stuck to the pot la..told M it's my first time cooking rice in a pot over stove..hahaha! The young couple brought back remaining chicken..M and Ch took the remaining cucumber (cos I'm not a fan of it) and they loved the honeydew dessert too. It's called Galia melon here..I read..is a cross between honeydew and rockmelon. So its exterior looks like cantaloupe/rock melon and inside is green. Glad I chose a ripen one..so it was sweet! Have another one cos it was going for 2 for £1! It's about my hand size only la..not those we get back home. Anyway in the end Ch and M said the church will pay for the meal..so they didn't have to pay..but I refused to tell them how much I spent on the meal..said it's less than £10 anyway. Ch didn't quite believe cos the other minister who did the Chinese meal tt time spent like £70+ on taugeh and rice and prawn crackers?!?! Hahaha..anyway, I told Ch that cos I have the sauces and stuff so only things I had to buy were chicken, cucumber, melon and "butter". They enjoyed the mini movie too...I included a National Anthem and fireworks video at the end last min this morning.

I think I might head to Cambridge on Wed if the weather there is good. Shall check again tmr for the weather on wed. Came back and planned my Cambridge city walking route. Technically I will only have 4 hours there and the journey there will be longer lor..but the coach tix only costs £2/way..surprisingly cheap but timings not very good so only reach there at 1.35pm and leave at 5.35pm. But was thinking if I really like it there, I can always go back again since it's so cheap..I'm intending to go for the chauffeured punting too..like Venice gondola..haha..and can prebook. So even if weather nt good, I can save for another day I guess. After that watched my Korean drama...now followed mum and watched "Angel Eyes".

Still full from lunch today. Oh ya, I filled my Copella bottle with leftover chicken soup and kept in the fridge. So if the thief decides to drink it, it will be v funny! HAHAHA! I didn't do that on purpose la..it's cos I didn't bring the plastic box to church today and used the bottle for my coconut milk mixture ma..so just nice la..won't drip also. I had planned to bring the chicken stock L offered me but unconsciously didn't bring it along..haha!
