I LOST MY STUDENT PASS!!!!!
Sigh. Since i got it, I had the bad feeling that I'll lose it cos it's thin..then changed to the new one at least my id card was thicker cos i applied online. But it's easily stuck to some surface and won't produce any sound when dropped. I don't even know where I dropped it. I remembered putting it into my pocket in the bus. Usually I put in my bag but I thought since I was wearing my black jacket with deep pockets, I could put it in..moreover, after buying groceries, it's easier to reach for it without opening my bag. Only realised I lost it when I reached for it before I waited for my bus back. Then retraced my steps...to Iceland, Poundland and Aldi and then to Tesco. No sign of it. Guess it might have dropped either in the bus or when I took out my hp (it might have gotten stuck). Anyway I bought the term pass and cos it's a student card with my face on it, the person who picks it up won't be able to use it.
Came home and went online to check how to replace. I was actually prepared to buy new one already but thank God, they have replacement..just that have to pay a fee of £15..it's still cheaper than buying a new one..moreover it's "cheap" cos the period I bought is till July..and I got a 10% discount cos I bought early..so means I had saved £24.80 when I bought the ticket..so thinking positively, I just saved lesser now. Cos the office is not open today and they don't have any form to fill, emailed to general enquiry email to ask how to go about getting a replacement. In the meantime, checked out the bus fares if I should buy single trips or other ways. But if I order a travelcard, it will also take time to be delivered. So, daysaver costs £4 and single trip costs £2.10. So I guess I'll just walk to Uni tomorrow. Hopefully classes will end on time tomorrow so it's not too dark for me to walk home. Checked google maps. It will take me 40min to walk all the way. Shall take it as exercise lor. I decided not to hope someone will return cos I won't know how long I've to wait. And will start keeping loose change..put aside £2.10 for now.
Anyway, earlier on, I bought ham trimmings from Iceland and used coins to pay. Got a shock when the cashier told me one of the pound coins I gave was not pounds! Looked at it closer and saw that it wrote "Isle of Man" and it looks sooo similar! But after that I managed to use it at Aldi. I have gotten it from Poundland the other day when I paid using £10 and got £4 worth of pounds change. Next time must look closer...why do they have so many diff "currency" in the same country?! Bought broccoli and apples from Aldi. Then went to Tesco to get Haagen Dazs..bought macadamia nut brittle this time..yes, it's on offer! £2.25!
And so cos I didn't want to pay £2.10 just for a few bus stops journey, I walked back. I had actually planned to come back straight after church but decided to get some vege for this coming week...and was a bit sian with staying home..it was rainy on and off but had sunshine today too. Anyway, I did my laundry after I came back and portioned the ham trimmings for my sandwiches this coming week. Oh yes! My bread!! Turns out not bad...a bit dense but L said maybe it'll fill the stomach more..haha! Will bring it to uni for lunch the next few days.
I guess I've learnt to take things in my stride. I wasn't that upset as I thought I'll be and thought of what I had to do calmly. Maybe it also helps that my dad is not here..else SURE nag like mad! HAH! The inconvenience is have to wait for the replacement. Hope they'll be as fast as they sent my card when I bought online.
Oh yes, besides buying ice cream, bread that turned out not-too-bad, another thing to be happy about is I just bought my train tix to London for SG day! Leaving early morning of 29th March (Sat), arriving ard 9.30am and leaving the next day ard 3.34pm and reach Bham ard 6pm. Though I won't have lessons that week, I've to come back to work on my last assignment. Btw this trip only £7.90 cos managed to get advance tickets and with my railcard! So by saving here and there...I'm saving for rainy days like paying for my replacement student pass..Hahah..Oh ya, I was thrilled this morning when I saw the list of hawker stalls that will be at SG day!!! Can satisfy my craving of Chwee Kueh!! Let's see if the list will expand and crabs will come too! Sent to the group and they were excited too! I'm sooo looking forward to it!
Now I'm praying hard Poppy doesn't chew off my student pass cos one part of it is paper. The other day she chewed part of C's driving licence that came in the mail...and L actually placed it on the table when she collected the mail before Poppy could chew it. BUT naughty Poppy jumped onto the table from the chair that was not pushed into the table and chewed it! L said she must be so bored cos other day she chewed a pen. C was so pissed the next day when he came back before L and told me about it. So that's my only prayer! Usually L will be able to get the post before she leaves for work. Btw, we use letterbox chute here so Poppy usually will jump and reach for the mail when the postlady pushes them through the chute. Will tell L later on so she'll help me look out for it.
Weather forecast for next week is wet - BBC weather says it'll prbably be the driest day of the week tomorrow though it's light rain. The ladies at church said I must've brought the weather with me cos this has been their wettest winter. Oh ya, and they will be having Sunday lunch on 2nd March! I'm looking forward to it! I might prepare something though they said just help out that day. Then they suggested I cook a SG meal in April..haha! Just nice cos that will be the end of my taught modules...
