Bought new jacket!!!!!!!!

Went to church this morning with R..today only a few people attended. After that went to Bearwood...then after a while R wanted to go back to Nike factory store at West Brom to get her shoes (we saw it on Fri but cos by the time R decided to get the shoes, the shop had closed so today went back again). Too bad most shoes were US size 8 and it's a bit tight for me. Then I chanced upon a waterproof jacket...actually it was under boys but label was unisex and 13-14yrs. But I liked it..and it was CHEAP! So tried on and it fits. Vvvv happy..and cos today I didn't expect to go to West Brom, I didn't wear thick enough...thot only gg church and Bearwood...so the jacket saved me frm jumping around from the cold and RAIN! Any guess how much it is?? L also says it's nice on me and v good buy!! But she pointed out that it should be girls cos zip is on the left.

Anyway, we bought some reduced price indian food! It was really wonderful cos R had commented she didn't have Indian so far though she heard Indian food here is v common...and I asked L abt Deolali (the restaurant she previously owned with T). Deolali only opens at 5.30pm...maybe next time if I have visitors and they wanna try good Indian food, will bring them there. So we managed to get Chicken Tikka Masala, Bombay potatoes and I got garlic and coriander naans while R had white rice. It was quite crowded at the reduced price section. It's ok cos the expiry is today itself..so it's ok to buy. Made hot chocolate with my leftover milk too.

Heading out early tomorrow morning for our Glasgow and Edinburgh trip!!! L told me of some places to go in both...Take care all!

Spent whole of yday bringing my friends (total 4 of them) around..and the OT friends who came from London went to Cadbury World and said I should go...haha..so whoever comes to visit next and wanna go, I'll go with them! Got lost looking for the rail station but heng they were ok walking 冤枉路. It was as usual vvv crowded in the city.

Exam is OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! The paper was quite ok but MCQ was quite tough.

Wheeee! After Uni went to meet R..hah..she is like a true backpacker! So came home to put her luggages then headed out again. So funny..had to carry and "locked" Poppy in the kitchen so R can avoid her..hah.

Went to West Brom for some shopping and look see then had dinner at the cafe at Tesco...

Nothing much to update today..had quite a sleepless night last night. Praying hard all clears up and I'll be able to finish studying today. Well, I guess I have looked at the notes enough until I kinda dozed off in the afternoon so had a 40min shut-eye. I don't know how else to prepare. Will probably have an early night tonight. Exam at 10am till 1pm. After tt going to meet R at the city railway station! I kinda packed my clothes for the trip too. And I did my bedding laundry and also put my pig soft toy in the washing so it's vvv clean now!

Was very irritated with Poppy today. She kept disturbing me when I went downstairs and also when I was heating up my lunch (the biscuits). Cos L left in a rush this morning, she told me to let her out to do bizzie...so when Poppy came to me, I opened the kitchen door a few times but if she did, she probably did only a quick one. Then she scratched her paws on my feet, trying to get my attention...then start to bark in the laundry room (that's where the treats are kept and L told me not to give her just cos she asked for it) or seemingly sneeze at my feet..to me it's disgusting. I ignored her barking and went up to my room. She's v smart...L also say she's playing me up..she knows I'll give in to her if she barks more..but not today. I raised my voice a few times at her today. Next few days and week I'll be away mostly so less contact with her. Come to think of it, she also quite kelian la..like in the day no one to play with...

Missing everyone at home...I've been asked by many people if I'll be gg home for Christmas. I'll want to experience Christmas here since I have the chance to..just that my family and friends are not here physically, unlike if I'm back home. Anyhow, I still can call them la..still connected. Anyway L has bought foodstuff for Christmas..she asked if we should make poached pears for Christmas cos she bought yesterday..sounds like lots of food and she said it's Christmas! But added don't have to eat all on Christmas..just cook all one shot and can keep...and I added ya, good idea cos most shops will be closed on Boxing day also.

Not sure if I'll be updating for the next few days..if not shall update when I can..take care everyone!

Lard biscuits

This morning was a VERY foggy day...see photos and you'll know what I mean!

Temp has been hovering between 2-4°C..and went to Uni today for the extra tutorial session. It was v fruitful..and I'm glad that the tutor uses spider diagrams (or what we call mindmaps) cos that's how I do my revision too. Only 6 of us turned up and Dr Steve was saying he didn't expect anyone to turn up...so funny!

Came home and did my washing for woolen clothes. Then decided to bake biscuits for my lunch. A few weeks ago I read about Ham and Cheese Lard biscuits and didn't end up baking them..so today thought I'll bake them since I have to use up the lemon and milk. They are absolutely YUMMY!!! Terribly addictive! It's biscuits like Popeye's biscuits. Shall save some for R in the freezer when she comes. Anyway for those who are looking at the recipe and don't have buttermilk, just add lemon juice to milk and leave it aside. L came back for about 10min during her lunch break and saw me baking but I told her don't know if it'll turn out well cos it seemed more sticky than it should be. Glad it turned out well!

And my friends in London just told me that they'll be coming for a day trip this Sat! Shall see where R wanna go on Sat...if city then prob can meet up with them. Oh ya, contacted R and asked how much stuff she has already..and she said quite heavy..hah..oops..so I guess what I can ask her to bring back for me is limited.

Cooked some sort of a cabbage chicken stew with Korean hot chilli paste for dinner tonight and tmr.

study day

I got 姨's and Kathy's card today!! Both said postage service was v prompt! I guess cos it's the festive period? Kathy also sent a small cookbook..actually I think I might get one for Christmas too..I seem appear to be interested in cooking shows..hahaha! But actually I don't really follow recipes v closely but pick up techniques here and there.

After that also got my 2nd boss's whatsapp saying she received my belated bday gift for her through "courier"..haha..Great to hear that she thinks my research proposal is great...well, hope I can deliver it.

Anyway spent today studying - I only did the important topics that tutor says will appear in our essay questions. Haven't read through the others for MCQ. A lot of information also has to be taken from Regulations documents...slides v brief and some lecturers were not v good at explaining. In the afternoon someone came to do some energy check for the house.

Will be going for the tutorial sessions tmr morning. V tempted to ask tutor to go through what to know from Thermal and Radiation lectures...cos I read the slides also don't quite understand..think cos the flow is not there. Can't wait for Fri afternoon to come!

Oh my..I was switching on the lights and pulled down the blind in the kitchen and it crashed down!! Heng I didn't break the bowl with soaked potatoes (C left there since Sunday) or anything...managed to fix it back but will inform L later...wah biang..macam I'm 破坏王！

Forgot to mention in yesterday's post that I knew of the riot at Little India! Sil sent a link to whatsapp grp last night. I was shocked!!! Followed the news online and newspaper too. Terrible!!! It looked like what happened in our history! Gosh! Anyway no way that the rioters will go scot free. To think I was just telling my thai and indo classmates that SG doesn't have strikes, riots or protests. Hmm...quite frightening when I watched the youtube video!

Anyway, today I made a trip down to Perry Barr to get something that I saw the other time. Heng it wasn't a wasted trip cos I managed to get it and also bought a pair of Clarks shoes for mum! Went to Aldi and bought loads of snacks, planning to get R to bring back for me. But after I packed everything, realised it's already quite heavy...so shall see how when R comes..if she has more baggage space. Else, ppl who don't get stuff this time, sorry! Also is not I go back la hor..so wait longer a bit.

Cos yesterday didn't cook, decided to cook beef casserole (without baking) today. Have been missing red meat a bit...or rather meat other than chicken...cooked 400g of beef so left 2 portions and 1 small one for L to try later. Tasted like something is missing..maybe cos I didn't put beef stock or proper herbs..haha..and of course, wine is missing!

And look what present L got for me and C...so funny! I asked her why didn't she get one for herself..she said it's for young people like us...haha..n C really like young boy..opened n ate up the chocolates till today's date!
