Nothing much to update...except had a chat with L this morning cos she mentioned that she's gg Manchester this week for work..and I asked what's there to see or do besides watching a football match. Then she was telling me sooo many lovely places to visit and I checked, most are accessible by rail! But I'm not sure if I'll go alone or ask my classmates if they are keen or just wait for friends to come and visit. There really is soo many places to go just in UK..what's more, there's Europe too! L said she might go Stradford-upon-Avon before Christmas and I can come along too! But told her I'm back only on 21st which is a Sat..she said she'll see how cos she doesn't know her work schedule for Christmas and New Year period. She did say it might be a busy period for her line of work too though. So shall just see how things go! It'll be great to be driven around although it might be at the backseat of the convertible. So far my Dec has planned trips but not for early Jan till I start Uni again in mid Jan. So thinking where I should go in Jan..but at most I'll go London again. The other colleagues here are thinking of meeting up tog in Jan cos seems like all are travelling out in Dec.
I spent today mostly on my assignment but progress is VERY slow..no "inspiration" to do...cooked porridge today with ikan bilis, carrot and shaved ham for lunch. L came back and said smells good..so offered to her to try and she had a bit and said it's nice..haha! I said I call this porridge and I like it..esp on cold days but she'll probably call it congee or rice porridge cos porridge to them is oats.
No inspiration to cook tonight. Probably will cook thai green curry tmr dinner! I will need to get potatoes after church tmr.
HAHA! Just as I'm typing, L offered me dinner! Lemon rice?! Sounds good! Yay!
Called ah ma today and she kept thinking it has been more than 2 months since I left. Yes, I'm going to pay my rent 3rd time only (I've to pay in advance) so it'll be 2 months on Wed. But my course has been pretty fast cos I've finished 3 modules out of a total of 10! One more 2-week module and I'll be off to Scotland and then it's Christmas!
Oh anyway, almost forgot to congratulate my poly friend today..her wedding today to her beau since JC days but have whatsapped her. Next week one of my colleagues getting married too..but not v close to him. Guess it's the wedding season!
*Added: Guess what was for dinner? Hahaha..u all would laugh when u hear...it was lamb with rice. Oh man...think my hearing got problem! Or maybe the door blocked a bit..haha! I was even offered Prosecco (white sparkling wine) and I just googled and saw the price! My goodness!! Anyway I offered to cook dinner tmr but they said they'll be having steak and chips tmr. Not v sure if it includes me but I guess I'll just cook green curry in the week...too bad tt L won't get to eat!

What's with the bus today?!
At this point, I'm just wondering what's with the buses today?!?!?! I actually took 1.5h to get to Bearwood from Uni and this is on a usual day half the time. Grrr...if not for the dishwashing liquid and not wanting to go out tmr, I waited, squeezed up on to the bus. It seldom gets so crowded!! But on one of the buses it was quite a good laugh cos a lady couldn't get off cos men were standing at the entrance...can't they just move out and get on again!?!? I did notice a lot of ?Nigerian kids ard..not sure if they're out to party or just gathering with friends...Anyway I also went to check out the Shoe Zone shop that was closing down in Bearwood to see if they have any suitable knee high (aka long length) boots but didn't have. So just bought the dishwashing liquid from the cheap shop then walked past Tesco express and saw B&J on half price offer at £2.49!!! And yes, I bought this! Read about it here.
Anyway cls was ok but overran for the lecture before lunch so we only had 1/2h lunch..but we ended ard 3.10pm...but as mentioned, by the time I walked, waited for bus and all that, was quite late. Came back about 5.15pm and L just stepped in too. Poppy has a coat on today...I was about to ask L won't she be cold cos she brought her out this morning which was about 1-2°C! Instead she had a shower and put on coat for her whole day...and heater apparently was on?!
Yay!! Weekend is here!!! I'm aiming to finish up my Toxicology assignment and research proposal by next week (hopefully mid week) and then go shopping! I've to get jeggings/leggings (to wear with my boots) and maybe another pair of touchscreen gloves.

how blessed am I????
During class today, N told us that ESRM result is out! He was checking his email and saw his result. My heart skipped a beat. I was vv fearful of my grade!! After A. and N checked theirs and they scored 80s, I decided to check and I scored 81!!!!!!! PHEW!!! I wasn't expecting it at all. I thought maybe it'll be 60s. I was sooo relieved! Praise the Lord!
Cls ended ard 4.30pm today - considered late cos it was getting dark. I don't like the feeling of going home after the sun sets esp alone...wanted to buy dishwashing liquid since the current one was running out but don't have tt brand that L usually buys. Maybe tmr I can find elsewhere..intending to explore Selly Oak tmr too.
Oh ya, yesterday's Dinner Date show was a gay couple! I reminded myself that I'm not in SG eh..hah...quite interesting to see how they find "true love".
Anyway this was sunrise today..taken from the attic (yes, I opened the window to snap the pic)
L called to ask abt Poppy and to say she'll be back in 2hours. Fed Poppy this morning and just now. She was sooo thirsty..as I suspected, T came by to bring her to the park (confirmed by L). She's now waiting by the window for L...hah..
I'm going to have my leftover noodles tonight and tmr maybe cook salmon or have my leftover pasta.
This week seemed to have passed sooo quickly!! It's already Fri tmr! Have a great weekend, people!

1°C!
It dropped to 0°C last night cos this morning, a layer of ice formed on cars parked outside...and the green field of the park looked like a skating rink from the bus stop opp it (where I usually take my bus). It was about 1°C when I went out. But thankfully, it's a bright and sunny day so still manageable. This morning after breakfast, don't know what made me look at Poppy's fave spot in the house (window there) and I noticed that there was a package and I realised that it's my touchscreen gloves!!! Finally it arrived! It took about 2mths?! But then there was a mark on it and sewing not that good...from Guangzhou..thought it was supposed to be from HK!
Wore my 60-denier tights under my pants and wore my high boots the proper way. Had to adjust it quite a bit cos I didn't want to make my legs look like elephant legs! Maybe I need to get either skinny jeans or jeggings. I wanted to wear with tights but then I also scared cold! I didn't bother buying thermal tights la!
Brought my cap along too but didn't really need cos I warmed up after walking. Slow moving traffic again today so got off a bus stop earlier (actually even before that cos the driver opened the door for me to walk..cos it's faster to walk than wait!) and walked to Uni.
In the clsrm was warm with the heaters..yet can only strip my jacket..haha! Anyway, A., N and I did our grp discussion a bit during lunch and last night I started off a bit and sent to them so as to save time. So managed to leave ard 3.10pm. I had plans to go Aldi for marketing anyway. End up waited sooo long for the stupid bus...grrr..anyway, managed to get quite a bit from Aldi. Bought gala apples and conference pears in bags for 89p (this 2 weeks offer), chestnut mushrooms (first time trying them cos no more white mushrooms), chicken thighs (no more drumsticks and thighs that are on offer), wine gums (aka gummies for me to munch in Uni during breaks), Edam cheese slices, celery and aubergine (aka brinjal!) . Was supposed to buy potatoes but forgot.anyway it was heavy enough already. Intend to cook green curry prob this weekend.
C was home most of yesterday and today..not sure if is planned off or what..anyway L called me this morning to check how Poppy is..then asked for C. Hah..I must have woken him up but too bad! I didn't want to..
Cooked chicken thighs with noodles for tmr and used up the leftover soy sauce gravy for dinner tonight. Had apple and it's sooooo sweet!!! I'm going to buy more next week before they change offer!
Long day tmr but we'll be having our grp presentation end of the day. I've been able to catch 揭秘 at a website and quite prompt in uploading..so I'm happy!!!

titleless
Nothing much to update except that had planned to go Tesco to buy my mixed nuts but class ended later than expected and it was getting dark. So I just went Iceland, wanting to buy celery but they didn't have. Ended up buying a packet of shaved ham (perfect for my sandwich) and tikka pies (that I can pack as lunch too). Lectures went on and on and I don't know how these are applicable for our assignment. Prob tmr will have a better idea. It was a sunny day throughout today though temp went below 10deg on my way home so was quite brain and nose freezed by the time I reached High St! Haha..I think I can start bringing my beanie out and maybe either wear leggings under my pants/jeans or leg warmers.
Oh yes, I'll be having my 1st visitor to B'ham!! SK is dropping by B'ham on the way to stay with her aunt in Tamworth which is about 30min from here. She'll reach 10+am and leave ard 6.30pm...I guess will just sightsee within the city?! Haha..I also haven't brought anyone around nor know where to bring people to (ok, besides the famous Cadbury World).
Intend to go Aldi tmr for grocery shopping but if I end late again, will be quite sian. End of tmr is scheduled as personal study which A., N and I have decided to use to prepare for our grp presentation either on thur pm or fri. Hope we won't take too long to discuss!!
Great that Poppy's dinner has been prepared. Tmr morning hv to remember to give her food..

more tales from London trip
Today was the Intro to Toxicology...omg..I'm like clueless. Very thankful there's no exam for this..only assignment so I guess it's not that bad!
Nothing much to update. Prob mention a bit more about my London trip..a silly thing I did. I reached a tube station and wondered why people were willing to wait for the lift to get to the concourse level than climb the spiral staircase just next to it. So I followed the very few to climb and it was like never ending. I was panting and legs felt heavier and heavier. At last I reached the top. When I went back and told SK that I didn't realise that the stairs was so long, she said ya, it's indicated how many steps and equivalent to how many storeys. The next time I was there, I saw that small sign which was written on whiteboard that it is 15 storeys!!! What an achievement eh? Hahaha! Geh kiang lor!
Then yesterday the plan was to go to Tralfagar Sq and Big Ben on my own before meeting SK at Camden Market for shopping. Then end up cos have procession going on, I was really STUCK at that area for 1h longer!! Asked the policemen where I can go to take the tube, one told me have to go the long way round but he obviously didn't know that they don't allow people to cross over to the other side of the road! Then eventually they opened one of the "crossings" barricade but people were squeezing their way through and the worst of it was they didn't open the barricade to opposite the pavement which was less crowded!!! So in the end just met SK for lunch and walk around an area then headed back and did packing. That's where I bought some cakes and pastries from Patisserie Valerie. Prob one of the most affordable patisseries I've come across so far! Others I saw was like £5.95/slice of cake! I shall try their other cakes when I'm in Scotland cos they don't have a branch in B'ham!!
Cooked spaghetti bolognese for dinner and managed to keep another 2 portions of sauce..
Just now L showed me what food to prepare for Poppy cos L is gg away till Thu night. I've to leave food for Poppy in the morning and then dinner when I get back. Well, just hope I don't kalang ka bok in the mornings..but I only have to do it on Wed n Thu cos she'll leave hse at 8am tmr.

I'm back from London!!!
Hi everyone! I'm back from London!!!!!!!!
I had a wonderful blasting time there..You must wonder why...here's the list:
1) I saw the queen!!! This is why she was out...
2) I met up with my SG friends and Dr Lee - catched up quite a bit which was nice!
3) I finally got to eat Korean food which was VERY authentic!
4) I managed to show SK how to use her microwave-cum-convection oven to bake so cooked this ribs for ourselves on the first night
5) I bought a pair of calf high boots!!! It's fur inside so v warm! PF and I couldn't believe the price! End up we both bought the same pair cos too cheap!!
6) I had chinese food though on the salty side
7) I got lots of sinful and yummy cakes and muffins from the Portobello Road Market and elsewhere
8) I visited the famous tourist spots: London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Tralfagar Sq, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Notting Hill, Chinatown
9) I managed to get around by myself with the Tube..only had trouble finding the underground station entrance at Euston on the first day I was out
10) I ate at Jamie Oliver's restaurant - but I find the food ok only la..on the salty side and pricey (abt £16 for a main course)
To conclude the main difference between London and B'ham, London has loads more people and international visitors and people are always rushing...VERY happening! Tubes, buses and generally transport is more frequent in London and lots more shops there too! I didn't manage to cover all the sights - didn't even go to Harrods store to see the Christmas display..now I'm tempted to go again! Grrrr..haha..only explored the eastern side of the city so far. But I still prefer to study here..not tt much distractions..hahaha!
Will upload other photos later on...
Tmr is the start of our 9.15am-5pm class teaching week! L also starting work tmr!
