nothing much to update

Just stayed home to do revision. I really don't know what to study cos is based on interpretation of data from research papers..so will depend more on how to apply. Wish me luck!

Nothing much to update. Cooked porridge for lunch today.

Morning spotted Poppy sitting at stairs looking at me n outside of window..haha

Realised the hard banging of the door is not my place but next door also...when the bang, can feel vibration! It can get chilly while studying in my rm..didn't turn on heater yet. Starts to get dark from 4.30pm now..makes me wanna eat earlier lor..nt good!!

baking and roasting

Didn't do much today since was intending to go Bearwood for some grocery shopping. Went to this bargain store and found this - fleece thermal insoles. I think it's perfect for my boots..haha..cos I wore it for grocery shopping on Mon and the ball of my feet was a bit uncomfy..think I'm not used to wearing heels to walk so long. So these insoles should provide some comfy as well as keep my feet warm!

Planned to roast some chicken legs today cos I had bought a pack of 1kg potatoes, mushrooms and broccoli. I could've cooked soy sauce chicken also but didn't have garlic so intended to get some. Garlic is pretty expensive here..4 for 89p..cheapest already cos ASDA and Tesco both sell them at 30p each. Managed to get lemons 3 for 50p and onions (1kg bag) for 75p from Iceland. So bought leg quarters 2 in a pack and costs £1.15 only. Bought milk, carrots, butter and grated cheese too. Then I realised what I bought the other day thinking it was butter is actually vegetable fat solids! Haha!

Anyway, marinated the chicken legs (had SMSed L to ask if she n C will want some too but no reply). Then went on to bake the lemon drizzle cake and felt that the batter was too little...then checked recipe again but didn't seem right but I popped it into the oven. 175g of flour is not 3/4 cup of flour. Cos no weighing scale, I used cups. Anyway I followed a recipe from L's "Baking for Beginners" magazine. So removed the cake and add more flour. Then came the drizzle bit. It's supposed to poke holes on cake and pour drizzle..then a crust should form. See if u can spot any crust! Hope it tastes good though. Think the food processor is not good for beating small quantities!

In between got whatsapp msg from L asking me to let Poppy out to garden..so I did then she just walk a bit then came back in and still waited at the window. Oh man...hope she won't be depressed when she's home alone with me!!
Before baking the mushrooms
Well, I was thinking if L and C not eating then I'll just pack the remainder and freeze them up.

*Added: L replied after I prepared everything..and yes, she said chicken sounds good. Haha..so anyway, they said the food (including gravy) was good..esp the mushrooms. I last min added gravy cos I realised they usually have roasts with gravy. Quickly made one with my own concoction..haha! The lemon drizzle cake tastes superb too except no drizzle on top as it's supposed to be! Oh well..but it's moist inside and lemony! Packed away 3 slices and told L she can have the rest...then she said she's just going to have a slice and she's trying to lose weight..haha! Too bad! Anyway, put the remainder in the big container (only just now then I realised that's where they place their bread and leftover brownie!).
Baked mushrooms and potatoes

my portion of baked chicken leg with sides
L is starting work tmr! I'll be doing my final revision tmr before Fri's paper.

stay home

Nothing much to update today cos stayed in my rm to do revision. Guess is cos I'm thinking I still have some time before exam so v slow in revising. Anyway, had scones for breakfast today. Bought them yesterday.

Have been starting on korean drama <<面包王金卓求>> after finish watching <<我可能不会爱你>>. L painted kitchen today..she's on a cleaning spree lately..haha..oh..I managed to do my laundry today finally!

Tmr will likely head out to Aldi to get more groceries then can either cook baked chicken or sweet and sour chicken (since I hv the sauce). Can't wait to get thai pastes from the supermart in the city..prob have to wait till after Fri.

Monday =) back to normal

Yes, this morning, turned on the tap and water was running from it! Phew. Anyway, a whole lot of dishes were left in pool of water in sink. Helped to dry them when L woke up to wash them. Then was hoping to be able to do laundry today but the rm was full of clothes - decided to let L sort out their clothes first before I wash. So maybe tmr then can wash mine.

Revised for ESRM exam today as planned. Listened to YES 93.3fm while revising! 很亲切!Opened the dark chocolate butter biscuits I bought from Aldi and the chocolate layer is soooo good!!!!

Happen to see the price of B&J Ice cream on ASDA's website!! Soooo cheap!!!

Headed out to the new ASDA store supposedly nearest to my place. It's a huge one and 24h! Spent v long there cos was comparing prices and deciding what to get (though I had a shopping list and had gone to their website to have a look at their offers). Anyway, got a packet of scones, spaghetti, potatoes, broccoli, frozen salmon fillets (I've been craving for salmon or fish), beef mince (£4/kg), yoghurt and frozen pizza (intending to have it for dinner tonight) and I gave into temptation and bought a packet of chips! Anyway the salmon was sold in 4 and is £3 (fresh ones cost more than £15/kg).

Came home and L was cooking chilli con care and offered me if I want for dinner. So nice..haha! I told her I actually bought pizza for dinner but luckily there's space in the freezer.

Haha..just done helping L bake brownie. We did it within like 20min and cleaned up!! She said we're an A team..haha...I was thinking of baking lemon drizzle cake (she said she loves it) one of these days..when I'm bored of studying. Then prob bake something to bring for SK in London since I'll be bunking at her place.

*Added: Tried the brownie...the middle isn't cooked but L and C likes it that way!! Haha..they simply loved it. Then L mentioned that she should bake some lemon cake and I told her I was thinking of baking since she likes it. Oh, she asked me if I can look after Poppy on Fri n Sat cos they'll be away! Hah! And she revealed her age...she really can maintain v well!!! Goodness...I shan't say it here..haha..anyway should take a pic with her so u all can guess too.

no water and storm alert! How miserable can it get?

Turned on the tap this morning and the water trickled and I ended up brushing my teeth half way and used leftover water in my water bottle to wash off the toothpaste. Left my toothbrush and retainers unwashed. Went downstairs and didn't dare to make coffee though there was water. Didn't get to tell L until she woke up. Apparently our neighbour had just called her too to check.

Went to church and some were saying that they didn't have water. Those staying further had. So anyway there wasn't refreshments. Then I told L that there's a storm coming up tonight. I had watched the news a few days ago and keep seeing it pop up online..http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24690552 It does sound scary...I'm staying home anyway! After church went to the nearby small shop to buy drinking water but the shelf was empty! Only flavoured drinks left. I didn't bother to go Tesco cos buses not that frequent today.

L went out and called me on her way back and she asked if I need anything - I said maybe can get some drinking water. But she came home emptyhanded. After a while, close to 3.45pm then she asked if I wanted to follow her to Tesco. Btw, shops close at 4pm on Sundays. I did and in my hurry, didn't wear jacket but it was ok..just walk from car to supermart entrance. So anyway, just as I guessed, the shelves for water was more or less empty. Left 1 bottle of 1.5L water but L said maybe she'll go another shop elsewhere. End up she called her friend (the one who opens the Indian restaurant) to bring some - no sign of him yet =( Good that the heater managed to be kept on cos L said that the heater uses water too. Temp is abt 10degC today!

Sigh..it's been 9 hours and counting. Anyway this is apparently why our water supply got cut: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-24691581 but rest assured, L says it doesn't happen very often. She can't even remember when the last one was. I'm quite lucky cos I had kept a portion of dinner from yesterday for today - so I don't have to cook tonight. No need to worry about no water. Just feels uncomfy not being able to shower and even going to the toilet. I do have hand sanitiser but still...the thought of it.

Oh yes, I found out that there's this Lord Mayor's Show happening on the day I'm in London!!! There'll be fireworks at 5pm (it gets dark around 4+pm now) and PF (my OT colleague) willing to bring me ard on Sat when I'm there. She stays with 2 others and it takes them 1 hr to London city. Oh yes, got a whatsapp from my 2nd boss that our research study won best oral presentation at the National OT conference yesterday! Congrats! In the whatsapp..already planned for me to be the PI (principal investigator) for the next RTW study! OMG!

I'm now putting my feet against the heater...and hands on and off. Revised a bit of ESRM and watching Grey's Anatomy now. Prob hv dinner later and dry clean myself...prob will sleep on other side of bed so one is clean and another not-so-clean (call me a clean freak). I haven't done this week's washing! Hmm..luckily I'm not in Uni tmr so can wash tmr...provided the water has come back on.

*Added: water has come back on around 1/2 hr ago...still brownish colour but quite clear when I showered. Didn't have hot water though so had a quick shower in cold water =X Not a good day...but strangely, outside seems quiet. So I guess the storm didn't come our way here. Anyway neighbours from opp the road came over to have drinks..cos I'm not the social kind, I just watched my korean drama on my laptop after I ate my dinner.

Saturday - stay home

Today just stayed home. Called my ah ma then realised that my aunt and relatives are enjoying themselves in BKK now!!!

Anyway, decided to do my SPSS assignment since was at it yesterday evening. And with A.'s help, I managed to finish it and get same ans as him. Phew! So quite an achievement. Means now I've to concentrate on my exam on Fri and then can plan my London trip after I look at the assignment one last time before submitting. YAY!

I got a parcel today for my supplies! So traditionally cheena right? Actually I only requested for ikan bilis, some wolfberry and packet soup like A1 tt kind but end up, got all these. So paiseh!! Cos postage was also v expensive! 破费了!Thank u!!!

Here's a pic of my mint plant. Just plucked out a few leaves to keep in case I want to use.

Cooked spaghetti with mushrooms, tomatoes, celery, olives, ham and spreadable cheese..
The pretty vine tomatoes..got these for 69p on offer

my dinner and kept another portion for tmr too
Just another gentle reminder!! For those who have manually adjusted their clocks to indicate my time here, please turn it back an hour. Which means SG is 8 hours apart from here from tomorrow (Sun)!

Friday!

Today started off with a gloomy day then became sunny and then gloomy again. Weather forecast is strong winds over weekend and it has started.

Well, today did the dissertation outline presentation. Went quite smoothly and got comments to think about my outcome measures. Lunch break became an hour late cos tutor thought not all will present our dissertation outline so allocated less time. Had cornish pasty today.
Cornish pasty with beef and potatoes as filling
Oh yes, some photos from yesterday's cooking...didn't take pic of the coriander soup
Roasted tomatoes with garlic which I helped L prepare yesterday

Roast Pork L baked
After class, wanted to explore Selly Oak but class ended at 4pm..was kinda late to explore..so decided to just drop by home bargains at High St to find sewing kit and go home. Oh..I didn't mention. I needed sewing kit cos the sewing on the newly bought jacket for one part wasn't well done so one of the strings came off. And I thought I packed a travel sewing kit but I couldn't find. So anyway, managed to find this compact sewing kit!

And then, I chanced upon door stopper!! I've been nagged to ensure my door is secure esp when I'm asleep..all along didn't see that shops sell this till today. And since it looks cute, I decided to get them - can bring back SG and use for my room door too!
"Stop" door stopper

Came home and L said I just missed her friends - she was clearing up already. Told me to help myself to the leftovers - which I did, added to my spaghetti for dinner. Oh ya, then there was a letter for me..opened and saw that it was from the Dr I was supposed to see on Tue. Letter said that it is necessary to cancel my appt on Tue...ask me call the clinic. I asked L if really necessary to make another appt..she said don't bother. If anything happens to me, cos I'm staying here, they will have to come anyway. Great! Save my time!

Then tried to do some parts of the SPSS assignment before dinner. And A. created a group chat with N. and A. told us that Anna (administrator) has emailed us our PPOH (previous module) results! I checked and praise the Lord!!! I scored 82% which is a distinction! Phew...good to know that. Anyway lost 10 marks cos I needed to talk more about the legislation - same comment A. got too. Glad that all 3 of us scored distinction! But then it's a provisional mark - await external examiner too but highly likely confirmed. So I'm left with clearing this module and get my dissertation approved before I can be offered MSc. Afterwhich, I got to settle my visa cos currently it states that I can only stay till July 2014. Lots of things to do but taking things one step at a time.

Yay!! Weekend's here! Hoping to sleep in tmr and Sun and actually the rest of the week! We all have an extra hour to sleep in on Sun!

Thursday, 24 October 2013

SUNNY day!

Nice beautiful morning today with the sun shining and lasted whole day!! Praise the Lord!

As you might have recognised, that tower is my Uni's clock tower

Temp was less than 10°C but I felt comfortable! Today had lecture then discussion on critiquing research paper. Then afternoon was on SPSS. I was done by 2.45pm but stayed on since my bus won't be here till 24min later. So looked at my presentation slides again for tmr and also the SPSS assignment. Was given the past year paper answers and this time my MCQ scored 20/30 (improved from previous year's of 14/30). The scores look drastic cos each qns is worth 2 marks. Getting the hang of how to interpret the question and data and answer for the short ans questions.

Went to Bearwood's Aldi after that. Managed to buy tomatoes, mushrooms, peanut butter, kiwi (on offer..6 for 69p), chicken thighs, cheese spread, cornish pastry (for my lunch tmr) and a pair of black tights (on offer!).

Helped L with a bit of cooking - she just remembered that she had friends coming over for lunch tmr and cos she has some errands to run tmr morning, she was preparing the food just now. Actually partly is cos I wanted to cook my dinner la..haha! Speed things up a bit. Cooked instant cheese and broccoli pasta and added mushrooms and celery and chicken.

Yay! Tmr's the last day for Uni for this module. It'll be a revision session. After tt will be pia-ing for exam next Fri. Today tutor told us that the English for Intl Students Unit organises day trips and the upcoming one is to Bath for only £15! I was excited! Moreover it's after the exam! But then checked at lunch, all sold out :( Left with Shopping Outlet trip to Bicester end Nov. Checked the stores there...seems like our branded or premium factory outlet so not sure if I wanna go. But it'll be nice seeing scenery - prob decide again. Probably will check out Selly Oak area tmr after classes.

short one

This morning I thought I would be late for class! It was a VERY heavy traffic right from my bus stop!! So I had to walk from just after the Harborne Junction down to high st and all the way to Uni. Reached there ard 8.55am. Phew. But was quite sweaty =(

Anyway today had lecture then reading of a paper then afternoon had SPSS practice. Will be similar for tmr too. Fri will be revision and thesis outline presentations.

Oh yes, this is my lunch for today and also tomorrow =) Cos I've used up my loaf of bread (finally!!)

Potato Salad with ham, olives, mushrooms and celery
Working on the last past year paper for practice and nothing much to update. Oh ya, yesterday A. told me that the answers for our assignment were accidentally uploaded on Canvas (elearning platform)...so end up those who saw suggested for tutor to change the qns. And so he did during today's lunch break.

Managed to get my muesli today. Tmr prob go Aldi after class to buy some groceries. It's getting dark already though it's only 6pm - will be 5pm on Sun cos of British Summer Time thingy (I think so?!) - as our tutor said, we have an extra hr to sleep in..haha!

on off heavy showers =(

Rainy day again and it's the on and off heavy showers kind. No fun.

Went in Uni earlier cos I wanted to borrow the "Fitness for Work" book from the Main Library. I've been to the Barnes Library ie. Medical Sch library but not the main library. Luckily I had looked for the book to see where its location is cos it's really many levels. So mine was at level 2...went up the stairs then into the doors and OMG...it looked sooooo eerie! I didn't manage to take a pic of it - it'll be quite funny cos there's obviously cameras around. The shelves were pretty close together and the lights were dim. And probably cos I was there early, no one was at tt section. The only "happening" place was the lower ground where the main counter and computer clusters were at. By the time I reached class, I was sweating! Oh, I realised that the time I take to walk and the time taken by the bus to get from High St to Uni in morning traffic is about the same! Cos I was just a few steps away from boarding the bus to Uni at High St then I saw it when I reach uni. But if for non-peak hr traffic, esp on Sundays, bus journey is very fast.

Went through practice questions. Then things were much clearer after the tutor explained. As for the past year paper's MCQ, I scored quite low :( Hope next one will be better. Finished classes earlier than schedule but I had planned to work on my dissertation (thesis) outline presentation. And I did. Draft is done but can't quite form my research question yet..cos I realised it's many areas I wanna look into but limited literature.

Anyway, I booked my return train tickets to London 8-10 Nov!! Managed to get it for about £12 with the 16-25 Railcard and I also confirmed I can bunk in with my ST colleague! Main reasons for going there is cos I would've submitted my assignment by then and Dr Lee (Occ Health Dr) will be in London from 9-16th Nov so a 3 or 4 days course. Probably will be able to get some Occ Health tips from her! I'll be also sightseeing - as much as I can la! Else there's always next time since train tix is pretty affordable.

Oh..today I showed my 2 classmates, A. and N. my family photo..both said my niece vvv cute! Hehe! And A. couldn't recognise me without glasses..said look younger in photo but that photo was taken on 31 Aug. Hmm..wonder if I look more matured with specs or I've AGED?! So nice that N.'s family is joining him here in Dec till end of the course!! It must be hard for him to leave his family esp his newborn who was born after the day he left.

I ate my leftover soup for dinner and made potato salad for lunch for tomorrow and the day after! I guess I'll go grocery shopping on Thur or Fri. Wanna check out Selly Oak area too since I heard there's a korean supermarket there. I need to stock up on supplies cos next week likely will be 闭关修炼!

rain and strong winds =(

Rainy day again today...and STRONG winds!! Grrr...this kind of weather, no use carrying an umbrella. So I was opening and closing my umbrella when I was walking. Better off with just the hood on.
Notice the sway of the trees

the path I take - wanted to show the falling leaves but can't capture

Anyway today was 2nd day of SPSS and as I expected, we could finish after we were done with the exercises. Actually finished ard 10+am but spent some time figuring out why my hp can't connect to data (ends up I have to manually key in the APN) and also of course, doing revision. Then chatted with tutor to ask about thesis topic cos we have to give a brief outline presentation this Fri. So only left ard 12.30pm. Was deciding between going Aldi (Bearwood) or home bargains along Harborne high st (which I will pass by anyway). Then decided to just go high street and head home cos of the wet weather. Couldn't find my muesli (I swore I saw it on Fri when I popped by!!) nor leather protector..only sell leather wipes and cleaner.

Came home and L was painting the living rm..then C came back cos apparently his colleague gave some fish and they don't have storage at work. Worked on my "missed out" exercises and trying to think of how to narrow my thesis topic. In between chatted with L a little since she asked if I was happy here (I think is more like asking how I'm doing).

And so I had fish and prawns tonight! Then L bought mussels too! L and I helped with prep and C cooked it. It's cooked in C's style - he doesn't have a name for it. But it's definitely sinful with butter and oil in it. HAHA! The rice that C cooked in the microwave oven looked "grown" when he took it out of the oven...too bad didn't take a pic of it.

Oh yes, and I managed to catch R online and so we booked our rail tickets from B'ham to Glasgow in Dec! Just booking a one-way cos I'm still undecided if to go London with R after tt or come back B'ham..cos it'll be near Christmas and I don't want to be stuck in the traffic or weather. Anyway, it means I'll be lugging the stuff for R to help me bring back to SG to Glasgow and Edinburgh (aka Scotland) but I guess shouldn't be much. At Glasgow, prob will book a day tour to Loch Ness area (maybe we can see a monster there!) and likely Stirling Castle.

1st month here

Happy 1st month to me! Yes, today marks exactly 1 month since I came.

Was woken by at 2+am this morning cos of talking..and became a bit warm. Managed to sleep back. Went to nearby church today - a bit lazy to travel into Uni for the Lutheran "service". Service is in " " cos today is movie screening on God and Hitler. Anyway, today I finally met the PT whom the others told me about. She's been a PT for 40+ years!!! But she's working with children. And she lives just down the road from me.

Oh yes, yesterday I was revising and drew mindmap with my colourful marker. Feeling accomplished, I packed away everything. And thennnn...I saw that the big pillow case and my quilt cover have hot pink ink stains!! OMG! I freaked out cos both are white. Grr..I quickly dabbed it up with toilet paper and it smudged a bit. Went online to find how to remove stain and realised I don't have alcohol nor nail polish remover nor hairspray. Besides, bleach and detergents are all downstairs (kind of late in the night liao).

So this morning tried different methods. Put Vanish (for white) on the stained parts and soaked it.

Before (quilt cover)
After
Big pillow case - after 1st round of Vanish soak
Big pillow case - after 2nd soak
Worked on my thesis outline presentation, while watching "Sudden" online. Then started raining. It even hailed for a while - managed to take a video of it!
Heavy rain

Now it's a bit sunny again. Yesterday and today Poppy kept jumping up my bed! Yday almost messed up my notes and L shouted to her to get off.

Correction from yday's post. I meant to say I'm cooking clear soup, not stew. I should've bought parsnip to try. Also read that Swede is also used for cooking soups. Here's the product! Tastes quite good except I added too much cinnamon! And I thought L&C might wanna eat..end up L only tried a little bit so packed the remainder in container - L said prob enough for my whole week. Haha!

Chicken stew/soup
Tmr's the start of the final week of ESRM. More stats and SPSS tmr and then learn abt regression and revision before the exam.

stats and more stats and research stuff

Made mushroom swiss sandwich for bfast today. L lent me a toast bag...but it doesn't cook the mushrooms that well. Anyway, today didn't do much besides catching up on stats

Then in between L repaired my room door handle..said it's prob the 4th time she is doing it already..cos the hole is too big for the screw to catch on..so I said back home we use this plastic thing to secure the screw but I didn't know what it is called. Then she went to find something similar and fitted in. Did my washing after L did theirs..then she started painting some parts of the house. To me I saw diff colour but she said will be diff after it dries...but now she realised is diff colour...regretting painting only parts now. Oops. So she saw my messy bed with notes cos she also went up to the attic.

It showered quite heavily just now but a while later, one side was grey skies, another was sunny! V strange weather! Now it's all blue sky already!

Was planning travel destinations in Dec with R online too but I totally unsure where to go and do what. Only know I wanna go Scotland to see castles..like fairy tale..haha! Anyway R confirmed her trip to B'ham on my last day of exam! Quite looking forward to it. Everytime I'm at the snacks section of the supermarket, I wished I had someone to share fats with me cos so many snacks I wanna try! So for those who might be thinking of coming here, pls be prepared to snack with me..and DRINK as well. Wines are v cheap! I can't possibly buy a bottle and drink all by myself. L&C usually have their own liquor and beer esp C..on weekends.

Going to draw mindmaps soon..I spent almost the whole morning and afternoon just doing questions on 3 studies and the exam has questions based on 2 studies. Not sure how!!! The basic foundation knowledge to me is kinda hard to grasp...but I guess with more practice I will be ok. Pray hard!

L told me she brought back some lamb curry in a takeaway container..if I want. She said it's not a lot though. I guess I'll try and cook some spaghetti to go with my leftover pork strips. I guess I'll cook stew tomorrow..or at least how my mum usually cooks it with potatoes, celery, carrots, onions and chicken. Simple one. But I don't have garlic..haha! Not going to blend or add butter so will be clear soup. Prob can offer them but will say diff from their kind of soups. Haha! I'm tempted to cook bak kut teh too..this kind of weather, just want to have soups or roasts.

Tmr got to work on my research outline presentation for Fri..then I should be ok. More stats stuff next week :S Exam is on 1st Nov and assignment (based on SPSS) will be due on 8th Nov.

TGIF!!!

It was a very foggy morning today..though temperature was comfortable around 11°C...

Really TGIF today!! Why? Cos I expected to be in Uni Comp Lab for the whole day today but turns out that we can leave after we finished the SPSS practice! So most of us finished before we left for lunch..so in a way it was like a half day today! Of course, I made sure I understood what I was doing in SPSS...but I still need practice. Mon we'll have another set to practise on. Heng for A. and N. to be around again to explain...of course, tutor was also available to help.

In the end I bought bundle plan (£7.50) for 30 days for my hp beginning today (which gives me 200mins within UK, unlimited UK texts and 250mb Internet). I guess my number has been transferred over to giffgaff. Will decide if I want to continue after that or I will just buy any 30days when I think I need the Internet.

And so I couldn't quite decide where to go - West Bromwich to get boots or City to get thai curry paste. Both places I also can buy my leggings from Primark. In the end decided for boots since I wasn't intending to cook curry that soon. I'm thinking of cooking stew prob this Sunday.

West Bromwich Bus Station aka our interchange (the covered part is where we wait for bus but not entirely indoor)
Went to M&S outlet to look for boots and narrowed down to these

Flat and softer leather (£35)
Darker brown with about 2" heel (£35)

Simple black one which looks like court shoes with pants over (£25)
Guess which I got in the end???? This pair of boots is my most expensive footwear I've owned so far!!! Hope they last since their upper part of made of leather! I was lucky to get yi's opinion via whatsapp..hah. Really enjoy such company while shopping! I don't feel alone! I also bought a pair of khaki coloured casual pants (but can be worn for my work) cos it was going for only £4.99!!

Then went to Primark to get my leggings..and also went to have a look at their boots. Realised their boots though designs some quite nice, they are not made of leather. Then popped over to Tesco..went to see their boots too.

Guess which one caught my eye or had caught my eye before too?

Took this pic to show how small these tropical fruits are when they are exported to UK!

This is the range of Asian food at the Tesco extra..there's Rabbit sweets, Yeo's and Asian Home Gourmet products
Popped by Aldi to check if they sold spare ribs. They didn't have. Saw at Tesco but seemed ex..small pack of prob about 6-8 for about £3 and they put that it's 5/kg?!

Reached home around 6.30pm and it was dark already. Heated up yesterday's half pizza. Then realised that L probably cleaned the carpets in my room and attic cos my shoes were thrown in the bin, stuff on bedside table was put on my drawer table (also my dressing table) and my luggage was not there. Checked with her when she came back...she had put my luggage in the shed (she did mention to me before that I could put there to make some room). Told her I'll prob need it in Dec (cos I put my small bag in there too..and the stuff to pass to mum via R when she comes in Dec).

Tomorrow I'll probably do some revision and work on past year papers, and also try out SPSS again (yes, I managed to download it to my laptop using Uni activation code - very thoughtful of the Uni, indeed). L said she might do somemore cleaning or painting tmr. She wants to get these done before she officially starts work.

Yay! Saw in my email that my Railcard has been dispatched! Paid £30 for it (1 academic year validity) but this will entitle me for discounts when I travel on rail (such as going London or Scotland or anywhere in UK)..and I checked..it's quite a lot of diff from full fare! See if Dr Lee still wants to meet in London..potentially can visit London in the 2nd weekend of Nov but I'll be as blur and I guess not used to it since London is a busy city, I heard.

Happy weekend, everyone!

quick one

Just going to keep this short cos I've readings to do. Finally we finished the last theory bit of the module. Tmr will be doing SPSS (Stats software). I'm already feeling the stress cos I still can't really interpret data from tables presented with stats in research papers and that will be the format of the exam 2 weeks later. Will try my best.

Today wasn't as cold so could manage with my pink jacket.

Look, that's the amount of bread I still have left after 4 days

Love the pic of the changing of colours

Sunny morning!

After Uni, planned to go ASDA supposedly nearest to my place. Thanks to data plan (which I used my remaining credits on), I managed to get to the place safely. Waited v long for my bus home though. Reached home close to 7pm. Anyway, bought some potatoes, onions, mushrooms, ham, honey, irish cream coffee, packet of chopped tomatoes with chilli peppers and frozen pizza (for my dinner). I bought this ham (or they call it pork and egg roll) cos not much price diff frm usual ham..looks cute with the egg in the middle huh? Haha!

Frozen pizza for £1

Btw, shops have been selling Christmas stuff already for some time! Of course, there's Halloween stuff being sold too..and those huge pumpkins!
